Before the Fall...
When I woke today the light was gone. Nothing. Olm came to me. I’ve never seen him so startled. Before I could say anything he lead me into the innermost chamber of Ima, and locked the door behind me. He told me everything. About the missing students, the relentless tests, everything. He told me about the Void… and about how all of Delta is now gone, and that the temple would soon be...

2 Days Before the Fall...
I fear that I shall not be able to prevent the child from learning of what has truly been happening in Delta. The Void has now crept up to the edges of Ima Temple, and we are losing our disciples by the minute. We have our top emirites still, but it is simply a matter of time before they— and I – are gone. Soon the child will be the only one left. He has made so much progress of late, I can...
3 Days Before the Fall...
Today was more training. Olm has cut out all other aspects of studies, and the only break I get is to eat.
I am getting closer to grasping this earthwelding though. Olm is looking ever more concerned, and has lost all patience. His usual looks of calming warmth have been replaced with stern, sterile stares. Often he won’t even be paying attention to what I’m doing at all. I can see it...
4 Days Before the Fall...
Something is definitely up. Even more people have gone missing, and today Olm told me that there will be no going outside anymore, until they can figure out what’s wrong. On top of that he said my training will have to keep going, and at a rather steady pace. No more breaks. It was strictly lesson after lesson. When Olm got fed up with one topic he would on move to the next one.
I’m...

5 Days Before the Fall...
Things keep getting weirder around here. Some of the kids didn’t show up for morning lesson, and when I asked Olm about it, he changed the subject. Don’t even get me started on play time I was hoping to have.
Once again we studied more earthwelding and lifebreathing. Something doesn’t feel right. Everyone keeps looking at me. They just keep walking around, pretending like things...

6 Days Before the Fall...
Another boring day. Olm made me run a whole bunch of drills on earthwelding. I still don’t full understand it, but Olm seems really keen on me learning it. Not a lot was accomplished, and I found it to be frustrating. I thought I was going to learn to make Guardians like him. His Guardians are always so beautiful.
When I asked why I couldn’t try making Guardians today, Olm insisted...

7 Days Before the Fall...
Today I met with my mentor, Olm. We worked on more conjuration, and I learned how to harness rock to form new Guardians. I’m really starting to get the hang of it. Olm says if I keep this up I should be able to produce a formidable one within the next few days.
We also tried some neat thing Olm called earthwelding. It was kind of boring but I liked it anyways. I couldn’t manage much,...

Day 22: Found
To the Archaelyte,
We have found the child.
We must now prepare for the inevitable.

Day 21: Day of Silence
We’ve gone dark. The last of the sunlight was taken by the Void on this day, and we now stare into an ever deepening darkness. If we are not the last ones left, we might as well be. We wouldn’t be able to know either way, as we are now fully surrounded. We are an island waiting for one final deluge to wipe us out. As it stands we may hold out for a few more days, but everyone left has...

Day 20: Pandora's Box
We have made a grave mistake.
The Descent has failed on numerous attempts to contain the Void, and it is slowly, but surely, taking over our entire headquarters. The headmasters are trying to tell us nothing is wrong… But every person who is sent to deal with the Void does not return. They claim that they have it under control, that we will be fine… I’m not so sure.
Efforts to...

Day 19: Blessing in Disguise
We’ve done it. We’ve managed to channel into the Vod itself. After centuries of trying, patiently waiting, sacrificing blood and tears for the Kane. Vaal will be so proud. I’m not even sure how to describe it. It’s so pure… so perfect. It absorbs anything it touches, and turns it into more pure energy, multiplying its own power. We are currently in the process of now...
Day 18: The Wanderer
My dearest,
Troubled times have hit Delta. We face an unknown foe and are on the verge of total chaos. In all my years on this plane, all the paths I have walked, never have I seen anything like this. I do not know if the path that once led me to you will remain long enough for my return. As a precaution I send you this letter in case of… well, just in case.
It has been some time since...
Help me get to Fan Expo Canada!
To the select few who follow this blog, I am trying to raise money to pay for a booth at Fan Expo Canada. My goal is to take any request, of any drawing, and based on the amount you contribute, I will contribute a comparable amount of effort! Wanna spend $1 to see a pineapple wrestle a bear? So be it. Wanna spend $20 to see a steampunk chipmunk? Awesome. Anything goes.
The cost of the smallest...

Day 17: Hearsay and Heresy
The atrocities we have witnessed in recent time have been caused not by the Void but by our own hand, which I find deeply troubling. The Order abandoned us. Mina closed their doors. Solis has become downright tyrannous. The only blood that has been shed has been on the grounds not yet affected by the Void. The things that I have witnessed Solarian guards do to desperate travellers. Uulu never...
Day 16: Desperate Times
To all citizens of Tyr,
It has been some four months since the Void has arrived, and Tyr is holding strong, but the days of tradition and regulation are long gone. For this reason we must urge all familiies with young ones to enroll them immediately in Guardian training. There has always been theories of the potential of training at younger ages, and now is the time than now to put that theory to...

Day 14: Riding the Currents
As our days draw closer to conclusion, I must pay homage to my dear friend Talgrove, and the mark he has left on our world. I know the stories of that child might just be hearsay, but I don’t want to take the chance. For what it is worth we must preserve our culture.
The maglites were by far the most amazing machine ever invented. Mina and Nautilus found a way to use the levitational...

Day 14: The Void
The Void was supposed to be the solution for us Kane…
Not the end of all Delta…
What have we done?

Day 13: Machinae
I must be brief. Some of the Descent have unlocked some sort of monster, and we could all be gone in a matter of days, if not hours.
Let it be known that it was I who devised a way to combine Minan technology with the forces of Vod. I alone was the creator of those Machinae. So us Kane have brought about the end of days, at least I will go down knowing it was I who forever changed the face of our...
Day 12: A Lesson Learned
There was nothing that could have prepared us for what the Void would bring. Sure, our teachings from the Order prepared us to a certain extent for the kind of destruction Vod and Aena could bring if abused. But what our elders could never teach us was the capacity for destruction caused by our own hand.
We were always taught that in order to thrive we must coexist. We must support the weak and...

Day 11: Carving One's Own Path
Since well before my time, Mina has been capable of handling our own problems without the help of others. Our industry is peerless amongst any other nation in Delta. With the tools of our ancestors we have carved our own destiny, both in the annals of our history and in the stone walls of our subterranean city. We have single handedly transformed our world for the better, providing resources and...
Day 10: Hope Amidst Darkness
I can’t explain the deep sorrow these dark days have brought upon our world. What little word we hear is scarcely good, and I often wonder why we should even fight the inevitable. No force seems to stand any chance against the Void. My heart hangs with a certain finality, and so I sit in wait of the fate that has befallen us.
If this is the end, I will not be taken as a defeated man. I will...

Day 9: Feeding the Weary and Weak
Things in Uulu have gone from bad to worse. With the blockades being held in Solis, we are left with next to no food. Our reserves ran out a few days ago, and people are scrambling to find anything they can- bread, wild game, a scrap of cheese. The people from Pilan were nice enough to send us a shipment of crimsonfruit, but it’s hardly enough to keep the entire village fed. The Void is...

Day 8: Heavy Sits the Mantle and the Crest
You always know when a member of the Order has come to town. Their garments are some of the finest in all of Delta and rightfully so. They are the preservers of the old world, and protectors of our most sacred land. They are deeply respected by all Deltans, and we take pride in their capacity for charitable deeds.
You always know the Order by two things: their mantles and their crests. Adorned...

Day 7: Mountaindiggers, Paleskins and...
I’ve had it! Had it with everyone in Delta. Those damn paleskins have really done it this time. I always believed they were a filthy people, and now I know for sure. Serves them right to fall first to the Void. Serves them right for being stupid enough to create it in the first place.
Same with those slimy Nautilii. Always thinking they’re better than everyone, up in their floating...

Day 6: Hunting Down the Aentolae
By decree of Lord Saven,
Due to the state of Delta, the ban placed on hunting of Aentolae will be lifted. As food continues to grow scarcer and scarcer, we must make modifications to our laws in order to survive these dark times.
Although the Aentolae has long been considered a sacred animal, nothing is more sacred than the survival of our people. Due to the sheer size of the Aentolae, the most...

Day 5: Of Bell-Jars and Botanists
17-03-AE:
I was sad to see the Bell-Jar Orchid go. Such a magnificently simple flower, so delicate. I used to pick one or two of them daily and place them at our table for dinner. Mother used to really enjoy that. Their slightly sweet scent would waft over us, like a little added dessert for the whole meal. The flower was like nothing else I had ever seen. The petals were almost as clear as...

Day 4: Want Not.
Girin,
Indeed circumstances have changed. Now is not the time for plea bargains and compassion. We have withstood the Void on our own, and we will not treat any trespassers differently from them. This is war. The Solarians are the strongest in all of Delta, we do not need your petty weapons to help us. If we open our gates to you, we open ourselves to every other region in the South. We will...

Day 4: Waste Not...
Magistrate Vanen,
I beg of you to open your lands to our people. We are starved, weak and scared. We mean not to take any of your resources, only to pass through in order to search for our own further South. Your city sits at many a crossroads, and without safe passage we are doomed to perish. Without your cooperation we can not feed our people. This is no time for petty games and power...

Day 3: The Sentinel and the Shard
There are many places every Deltan must see at least once before they die. They are sung about in hymn, praised by travellers who come through the city, and just as mysterious as they are magnificent. I will speak briefly of a few of them in hopes that these records may one day be found by the Reclaimer, if such a saviour truly exists.
The first is called the sentinel. It sits at the foot of the...

Day 2: Delta's Former Glory
There was a time, I recall, when walks through the Jade Forest by Tyr would calm my nerves. I knew the trails well. They were the paths worn down by my ancestors. Their history etched in the faded dusty routes that wound their way between the trees. So much history… so much hope…
I recall a particular foray with my elder, Drintheus, that has always replayed in my mind, especially of...
